I love to see other designer’s work spaces. It’s one of my favorite things to find out about a designer. I’m the same way with PC rigs, too. I figured I would share a few photos of my office, for those who may be curious.
A designer’s workspace is a very personal thing. Having the right feel around you will only help further your creativity. A large, clean, functional desk are essential.
Admittedly, even I find myself in the living room, at the coffee table, on occasion – to break up the day a little, but my home office is where it’s really at.
The photos here are about a year old, before I had put any decor up. However, with the exception of the posters which now grace the walls, it remains much the same. One notable difference is that I only have one keyboard now, thankfully! My server runs Synergy to connect one mouse and keyboard to multiple machines – in this case, 3 systems.
What you’re looking at above, is my server, where my design work is done (center), a Video Editing system (left), and a DVD Authoring system (right). They also serve as emergency back-up systems if one of them goes down.
Not pictured, I have a small Mac iBook, an HP Pavilion, and a Dell Inspiron, the latter of which runs my Digital Audio Workstation.
